I was gratified with the many wonderful emails you sent in support of continuing this newsletter. As a result of your suggestions, the newsletter will more directly approach how to live an empowered life. Please feel free to email your questions about empowerment. I will personally respond to each email.
We will explore how tools such as Tarot, Ruin Stones, Astrology, and other oracles can help empower you. The first step on the empowerment journey is to recognize and use the instruments available to you. When oracles are used as a system of exploration, rather than a justification for how you want things to be, you can gain a sense of strength and calmness.
Finally, in the future I’m going to offer occasional workshops about using oracles for empowerment. Please let me know if you are interested in taking a workshop, and what oracle you would like to learn more about.
Blessings,

Creating Boundaries
Creating and maintaining healthy boundaries is like putting on your superhero cape in the world of personal empowerment. It’s about standing up for yourself, respecting your own needs, and defining how you want to be treated by others. My job, as an Empowerment Coach, is to work with you to identify your boundaries, examine how those boundaries have been pushed in the past, and explore strategies to communicate your needs in the present and future.
Sometimes it’s difficult to recognize in yourself the need to set clear boundaries. You may need to set boundaries to take care of yourself if you are:
1. Constantly Putting Others First: Believing that your needs are less important than the needs of others can lead to a lack of self-care and self-respect. It’s essential to recognize that your well-being matters and that setting boundaries is an act of self-love.
2. Feeling Overwhelmed: Finding yourself overwhelmed by commitments, responsibilities, or the needs of others may be a sign that your boundaries are not adequately protecting your time and energy. Feeling overwhelmed can lead to stress, burnout, and a diminished sense of control over your life.
3. Difficulty Saying No: Struggling to say no to additional obligations, even when you’re already stretched thin, can be a sign that you need to set firmer boundaries around your time and capacity.
4. Allowing Disrespectful Treatment: Allowing others to disrespect your personal space, feelings, or boundaries can be a clear indication that you need to establish firmer boundaries. This includes speaking out against verbal abuse, invasion of privacy, or emotional manipulation.
5. Difficulty Expressing Feelings: Finding it a challenge to express yourself in your relationships due to fear of conflict or rejection may be a sign that you need to define and declare your boundaries more effectively. Suppressing your feelings can lead to internalized stress and unhappiness.
Once you are aware of how you are feeling about yourself, you are in a position to make changes. If you are working on your own, or with a coach, self-awareness is the first step in creating the change you want to call into your life. The second step is to set clear goals for how you want to move forward. Finally, believe in your ability to change yourself into your own superhero. Even superheroes need occasional help.
Tarot as an Empowerment Tool
Tarot is an old divination tool consisting of a deck of symbolic cards that has evolved from fortune-telling to a powerful empowerment tool. Whether you read with the traditional 78 cards or use a Major Arcana deck, such as in my Tarot of Empowerment deck, Tarot acts as a tool to access wisdom to navigate life’s challenges and cultivate personal growth.
At its core, Tarot empowers you by providing a framework for introspection. Each card carries symbolic imagery, representing various aspects of the human experience. The cards expand your ability to reflect on your emotions, desires, and challenges. This self-awareness is a first step towards empowerment.
Tarot can help you break negative cycles, while promoting personal growth and fostering a sense of control over your destiny. Tarot readings frequently serve as a catalyst for transformative change.
Here is an empowerment exercise you can do by going to the free card draw at JudythSult.com—or by taking a card from your own deck—and then asking, “What do I call into my life to be empowered?” The way you phrase the question is important so that you know what the card is referring to.
I selected a card, and Choice (the Lovers) came up for me. For me to be empowered, this card indicates that it’s time for me to decide if the way I am living my life comes from a place of empowerment, or if it is time for me review my boundaries. It would benefit me to quietly review my relationships with family, friends, and clients to determine if I am coming from a place of empowerment. Then it would be a good exercise to write down what, if anything, needs to change.
I invite you to pull a card and, if you have a question, to send me an email. I’ll try to clarify it for you.
Sky Influences
Empowerment exercise: Working with the astrological energy of the Moon can be a powerful experience. I am not an astrologer; however, I do believe that the energy of the Moon can have a significant effect on us. Note the dates of the Moon phases on your calendar and do the suggested exercise on, or near, that date. As an Empowerment exercise, working with the Moon can bring your emotions and intentions in alignment, which is powerful.
New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Libra, Oct. 14: The New Moon is when you can’t see the Moon in the sky because the Sun covers it. Traditionally, the few days before and after the New Moon are the best times for setting goals and getting unfinished tasks out of the way. The New Moon is about new beginnings.
The sign where the New Moon takes place has a particular energy associated with it. The sign of Libra is about balance, so during the October New Moon take time to note where it would benefit you to bring more balance into your life and set goals for how you will find that balance. This is also a good time to re-set relationships that are out of balance.
The energy during an Eclipse usually has a more powerful effect than during a Moon phase without an eclipse. The result of this New Moon and Solar Eclipse may be that you feel more out of balance, even as you are seeking to find balance. An act of empowerment is to identify where you need more balance, and then forming a path to get there.
Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28: Taurus energy is about being grounded, enjoying material comforts, and experiencing well-being. In astrology, Taurus is associated with material comforts, security, and self-worth. Taurus energy invites you to get grounded and to enjoy the luxury of your home and what it is that makes you feel good.
During this Full Moon with a Lunar Eclipse you are most likely to feel content with your life. If you are not content, it is the perfect time to decide what changes you want to bring to your life. The Full Moon brings a burst of energy and a powerful creative impulse that can be used for your advantage.
