Every year we wish for a special Christmas or holiday season. This Christmas was unexpectedly special for me.
I was planning a quiet Christmas with my husband and our daughter. Our son lives in Paris and would be flying to the Midwest to be with his partner’s family.
I had a stress test some months ago, which ended in results that had my cardiologist concerned. I have familial high cholesterol, and he has treated me for over the last 20 years for it. Typically I would get another stent (I have 14), spend the night in the hospital, and resume life as usual.
On December 11, he did a catheterization to see what was going on with my heart and was dismayed to see major cholesterol blocks that were very hard and put me at immediate risk for a heart attack. He called in a surgeon to discuss a bypass; she was hesitant because of my persistent cough and some other issues. After a confab with consulting doctors, the surgeon was willing to do the surgery, which was her first time with these complications. Our son immediately joined the family to give me support.
I am the person in my family who quietly goes off and does ritual when I’m so inclined. This time, my entire family approached me and asked that we do a ritual to help the outcome. I decided to incorporate a prayer wheel Larry gave me some years ago that has been neglected the last few years. I asked each person to write down what they wanted for themselves, for me, for the future, and for life in general.
When everyone completed the task, we shared what we wrote, put the slips of paper in the wheel and spun the wheel so the energy would go into the world. I asked each of them to spin the wheel when they passed by while I was in the hospital, which they did. This was a very empowering ritual for all of us.
The second thing I did was to inform friends that I was having heart surgery. In spite of my love of people, in many ways I’m a private person about my own challenges and usually only share them after the fact, if then.
This time, I decided to put word out to friends and extended family telling them I was going in for surgery, and I’m so happy I did! I have several friends who do Reiki, other friends who pray, and some friends who send positive vibes. I felt them all. I was so empowered going into surgery that I felt no fear, only love and support.
Immediately after the surgery, while I was in the ICU I was in incredible pain. I asked for my daughter, who is a trained pain coach, and after a breathing exercise, I was very comfortable. I felt the Reiki energy and love of my friends, and I was at complete peace. Again, I was empowered.
I was able to leave ICU a day early, and didn’t need any pain pills at all! I was in the heart ward for 3 more nights and able to leave 2 days earlier than expected. All the while, I felt the love, support and Reiki from my friends.

My son’s partner joined us for several days, and the whole family was together. Since then, my recovery has been remarkable, which I attribute to my wonderful family and the amazing friends who sent me all that love, support, and Reiki. Healing thoughts and prayers really do make a difference. I was home December 22 in time to enjoy Christmas with my family. The photo above was 8 days post-surgery
It truly was an empowered miracle Christmas. I’m so happy to be able to continue to connect with each of you.
Blessings,

Numerology: 2026
2026 is a 1 Year
The Universal number for 2026 is 1, which is the beginning of a 9 year cycle for the world. It also indicates the world will be introduced to new ideas, leadership, technological advances, and fresh starts. The way you, individually, connect to the Universal number depends on your personal year number.
To find your personal year number, add your birth day number, your birth month number, and the universal year number. My birthday is April 21, so I add 4+3 (21 reduced)+1=8. The energy I will be calling on this year is 8, which, in retirement, is about managing my resources, including money and time.
Now, let’s take a look at how each personal year number interacts with the universal year.
1 – This is the beginning of a nine year cycle for you as an individual, as well as the beginning of the universal new nine year cycle. Plant seeds for what you want to manifest over the next nine years.
2 – You are likely to want to work with others in partnership this year. You may find yourself seeking new relationships of different kinds.
3 – This personal year number indicates a lot of energy going into communicating creative ideas and expressing yourself in new ways.
4 – Four is about using your energy to build new foundations and structures that will serve you over the nine year cycle the universe in entering.
5 – The five energy is about breaking free and exploring new beginnings and ideas. This can be an especially dynamic combination with the universal one year energy because you will likely find yourself breaking old patterns.
6 – This year you will likely find yourself assuming more responsibility and nurturing others. Home will be especially important to you: deciding what is home, who you want in your home, what you want your home to be.
7 – Seven can be a difficult personal year number in a one universal year because the energies are so different. The seven is about introspection and spiritual growth, while the one energy is more energetic and active.
8 – Eight calls on one to initiate actions to build the foundations that will focus on growth during the universal nine year cycle. It’s time to evaluate the universal energy and build the foundation to adapt to the new one universal energy.
9 – The nine energy is about completion on a personal level while the universe is in the one energy of new beginnings. You decide what you want to carry forward in your personal life, given the universal energy of change. Use the experience from the last eight years to integrate the themes of beginnings and endings.
