March 2020

Judyth Sult’s
March 2020 Empowerment

Notes from J

Since February 17 we’ve been in Mercury retrograde which has been the subtle backdrop for the Democratic debates and getting information about coronavirus. As a reminder, when Mercury is retrograde, communication, transportation and electronics are all challenged, and that has certainly been true with this powerful retrograde.

Think about the misinformation about coronavirus from leaders who should be telling us the truth. The transportation issues related to coronavirus in countries where flights have been cancelled and luxury ships have been quarantined. We’re still dealing with the confusion around the caucus results from early primaries. Mercury will finally turn direct March 10 and hopefully we will get more solid information that will help us make wise choices.

A few days after Mercury goes direct is the Spring Equinox, a time of renewal and perfect balance between light and dark. The Spring Equinox represents new beginning and an increase in the light. The theme of balance is perfect as our journey through the Chakras brings us to the second Chakra which is about personal balance.

For me, Sustenance, card 3 in Tarot, is the most empowered card in the Tarot of Empowerment deck. She has to be empowered to know herself and appreciate her gifts so she can assist others to understand their own strengths.

Sacral Chakra

Sacral Chakra

Learning about the Chakras helps you become aware of how these energy centers relate to your life energy flow, and how to clear them if they are blocked. When there is a block we feel unbalanced in areas that relate to specific Chakras.

This month, I’m discussing the second, or Sacral Chakra (read about first Chakra here).

The second Chakra is located at the bottom of the spine and just below the belly button. It is associated to the color orange, the element of water, and the sound of vam.

In your life energy, the Sacral Chakra relates to sexuality, creativity, personal power, intimacy and pleasure. Symbolically, the second Chakra is about the cycle of birth, life and death.

When your second Chakra is open you feel excited about life, you likely are open to new experiences and motivated to discover things about yourself and the world. A healthy Sacral Chakra attracts healthy relationships with yourself and others, and healthy sexual experiences.

A blocked or unbalanced Sacral Chakra will often show as emotional issues around intimacy, flexibility, guilt and shame. An unhealthy second Chakra can manifest as sexual dysfunction, addictive behavior, or depression.

Is Reiki Right for you?

I’m often asked what Reiki is and how is it useful? Reiki is a clothes-on, hands-on gentle healing method for emotional and physical discomfort. It is not a religion or belief system. The touch is very light and respectful of the person’s body.

According to a report by the U of Minnesota “reiki is a complex process that engages many body systems, simultaneously or in quick succession, shifting the body from domination by the “fight or flight” (stress) response to the relaxation response, and supporting the body’s own healing mechanisms.”

In my own practice my clients have reported remarkable results for easing grief, relieving pain, and restoring energy.

Reiki can be used to:

  • Recover from grief
  • Balance the Chakras
  • Strengthen the immune system
  • Relieve pain
  • Relax and reduce stress
  • Restore energy
  • Promote self-healing

I have found that there is a real benefit for people who are beginning to receive Reiki to sign up for three sessions within a two week period. The reason for this is that the Reiki energy has a chance to really set in and maintain a level of flow. After the initial three sessions the visits can be scheduled further apart.

Reiki compliments, but does not usually take the place of, medical care. It can ease the pain of a broken bone, but the broken bone still needs medical attention.

Mercury goes direct, March 9 in Aquarius

After three weeks in retrograde with challenges to communication, transportation and electronics Mercury will go direct on the March full moon. There may be a lot of rehashing events from the last three weeks and people are likely to have loud opinionated conversations.

Full moon, March 9 in Virgo

This is the time when you’re likely to want to get organized and reduce the chaos. It’s also a good time to be more tolerant and accept that life is not perfect. There is likely to be a struggle between the Full moon energy and Mercury going direct.

March 19, Spring Equinox

The Equinox is the perfect balance of light and dark. Anything started during the Spring Equinox will be around for quite a while, so think carefully about your intentions before the Equinox.

New Moon March 24 in Aries

New beginnings are evident as the flowers begin to bloom and new leaves appear on the trees. The Aries energy may cause changes to come more quickly.

Sustain us with love and compassion

Lead us into new possibilities

Help us grow and nurture us

As we move through the world

Sustenance is the third card in the major arcana.

You are empowered when you use your words and skills as tools to strengthen worthy causes and people around you.

Calculate Your Personal Month for March

March is the third month so the universal theme is 3. This means that the subtle energy in March that holds true for everyone is expansiveness, adventure and issues of joy

To calculate your personal energy for the month you need to know your personal year. The personal year calculation is to add the number that corresponds to your birth month and the day you were born, Reduce this number to a single digit and add the universal year which is 4 (2020). The energy of the personal year is with you for the entire year from January to December.

Your personal month energy is the emphasis of the energy you’ll draw to yourself during March. To calculate your personal month add the number that corresponds to your birth month and the number of the day you were born. Then add your personal year, which you calculated above.

For example, a person with a birthday of September 23 would have a personal month of 9 {9+5=14=5, then add 4 for universal year}. This birthday would suggest that the energy for March is about completion.

Figure out your personal year and the energy that the personal year brings to you.

1 – The 1 influence is new beginnings, leadership and initiative.

2 – The 2 influence is harmony, partnership and cooperation.

3 – The 3 influence is expansiveness, adventure and joy.

4 – The 4 influence is limits, order, and service.

5 – The 5 influence is change, enthusiasm, and adaptability.

6 – The 6 influence is home, family and responsibility.

7 – The 7 influence is analysis, understanding and logic.

8 – The 8 influence is power, money and confidence.

9 – The 9 influence is completion, idealism, humanitarianism

(Continued from above) Healing the Sacral Chakra

As this Chakra relates to personal power and passion, explore what’s keeping you from expressing your personal power. Write down the beliefs you were taught as a child. What of those beliefs are no longer appropriate for you as an adult? What beliefs have kept you from feeling passionate joy? What are your beliefs about creativity, sexuality, power, passion, your looks, or anger?

Examine your self-talk to discover the messages you frequently repeat to yourself, such as, “I’m so dumb and ____,” [fill in the blank]. Replace that negative self-talk with affirmations such as, “I am smart about organizing events and ____,” [fill in the blanks].

It can be useful to have physical reminders when you are working to remove the blocks and open the Sacral Chakra. For example:

Carry orange stones such as calcite, carnelian, citrine or jasper. Moonstone is also good as it relates to the element of water.

Eat orange foods such as oranges, cantaloupe, carrots, mango, sweet potato, salmon, apricots, or peaches.

Create something that reminds you of a healthy Sacral Chakra. The act of creating is a sign of an unblocked second Chakra so anything you create will help heal your chakra.

Additional healing methods for all of the Charkas include sound therapy, acupressure and acupuncture, art therapy, yoga and massage.
