Judyth Sult’s October 2017Empowerment  Newsletter

Notes from J

This last month has truly been a time of intentional release for many people. My mentoring openings are completely filled, people needing readings are unprecedented, and Reiki healings have been in high demand.

Although these observations may seem to indicate that people are weak or disheartened, I actually see that each person is willing to work towards her or his own empowerment. The women and men I’ve worked with are looking for ways to improve their lives by removing blocks, healing old wounds and setting their intention. Every person who has sought guidance and healing has done so because they are seeking to discover their own strengths.

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your journey, be it through this newsletter or in person. Call if you want to ask about your empowerment, I can always find time.

Blessings to you all,

Rev. Judyth

Halloween traditions

Ghosts, witches, pumpkins, candy and spiderwebs announce that it’s time for Halloween. Practicing Pagans, real Witches, and those who follow earth-based Goddess traditions that predate Christianity honor a deep spiritual meaning that underlies this holiday. In these traditions it’s their time to celebrate the New Year (Samhain, pronounced sow-in), by honoring the process of death and regeneration.

In Northern Europe, Samhain was the time of thanksgiving to celebrate the end of harvest and to move animals to winter shelters. It was believed the ancestors and the spirits of the dead would return home to share in the feast. The dead were remembered and welcomed into the community to share the feast (represented by pumpkins and candy today) where candles were set out for them to find their way home.

Death and regeneration are linked in pre-Christian beliefs. Birth, death, rebirth are repeatedly evidenced as an essential part of nature and human lives. At Samhain children symbolize the rebirth of the ancestors, hence, we give them the candy which represents the feast. Death is not to be feared, but a natural process of life and birth into a new form. This is a good time to celebrate and tell stories about those who have crossed over in order to keep their memory alive.

Some people confuse the Latino Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead with Halloween. The Day of the Dead is actually on November 1 and is a joyful celebration with feasts, stories, altars and prayers to those who have crossed over. Skulls and skeletons are usually brightly painted and may be decorated with flowers in joyful celebration.

The energy during this time when the souls are passing between the worlds offer a time for deep spiritual work. For those who pay attention to the energy at this time of year the veil seems thin between the worlds and the mysteries are more accessible.

Be empowered to joyfully open your heart and celebrate those who have passed to the next realm. As you give out treats quietly bless each person who receives them and honor the ancestor who has come before them.

Albatross day – A day of completion

The albatross symbolizes a burden that keeps me from moving forward. Recall Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, in which an albatross follows a ship; usually a sign of good luck. However, the mariner shoots the albatross with a crossbow, which is regarded as an act that will curse the ship. As a result, the mariner is forced to wear the dead bird around his neck. The word albatross has come to mean a psychological burden that feels like a curse.Image result for albatross image

I call an Albatross Day when I become almost incapacitated by my to-do list. The Albatross Day is a day when I take care of tasks I never seem to have time to complete.

When I did office work I would take my inbox and dump it upside down to get rid to the oldest paperwork. It usually needed to be filed or tossed. If there was still relevant action that should be taken I would do at least one step, then move the paper to the top of the pile so I could pay attention to the issue sooner rather than later. By the end of the day I felt I was clear of my burden.

Now that I don’t have an inbox I make lists and some things never seem to be attended to in a timely manner. On my albatross day I give attention to the oldest task and take it off my list. In one way or another it must be attended to, even if I have to hire someone to complete the task.

The trick to a successful albatross day is to not take on any new tasks. I don’t accept clients or take outside calls on these days. I don’t allow myself to get distracted by emails, Facebook or the book I may be reading. I just attend to the cursed albatross.

When I am done I feel pounds lighter, fresh and clean. Have a happy albatross day!

Moon Cycles

Full Moon – October 5 in Aries

The last few months, especially since the eclipse, have been about releasing the old as you set your intentions for the future. This month’s full moon is in Aries and the lesson is to get up and get moving to claim your intentions. The time for action is NOW!

New Moon – October19 in Jupiter. Since the full moon if you have been working towards your goals you are likely to feel incredible optimism and you may over estimate how much you are achieving. This may also be a time that people may become enamored with a new belief system.

The Wheel of Fortune

Spin, spin
Embrace change
Bring good fortune
Spin, Spin

When the Wheel of Fortune comes up in your reading, you are in sync with the Universe, and it is time to pay attention to what it is trying to tell you. Times will change, and this is your opportunity to prepare for your future.

Change can be very difficult for people who have a strong desire to control. The wheel will spin, and it is time for you to decide how you will accept and respond to the turn of the Wheel of Fortune.

Empowerment: The Wheel of Fortune empowers you to participate rather than passively accept the direction of your life’s fortune.
